Introduction – What we are going to do is politically discuss the issues related to gun control.

Does Gun Control Reduce Crime? – Emphatically no. Never once did it ever do that.

Below are several studies that can be researched on the Internet yourself that document the fact that gun control never reduces crime.

New Jersey – In 1996 New Jersey passed what was considered to be the most stringent gun laws in the USA. Two years later their murder rate went up 46% and their robbery rate about doubled.

Hawaii – In 1968 Hawaii passed harsh gun laws. At the time of the legislation their murder rate was 2.4 per 100,000 per year. Nine years later their murder rate had tripled to 7.2 per 100,000.

Washington, D.C. – In 1976 they passed a major gun control law. They even stopped people from owning guns in their homes. Their murder rate went up 134% while the USA rate for murder dropped 2%.

New York City – They have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the world. All sales of any sort of gun are restricted and tightly controlled. 20% of all armed robberies in the USA are committed in New York City and they do not have anywhere close to 20% of the population. This is what happens when the criminals know a certain population is unlikely to be unable to defend themselves.

Chicago, New York City, Detroit and Washington, D.C.- Each of these cities has accomplished a virtual ban on the private ownership of guns. The Washington D.C laws are being fought out in the appellate courts at present. These four cities have 20% of the homicides in the USA yet they only make up 6% of the USA population. This means that restrictive gun control leads to a tripling of the homicide rate. Some one is going to say wait the population in these areas is why the murder rate is so high. Fine we can look at Arlington, Virginia which is a city right across the Potomac River from Washington D.C with sensible gun control laws so the population base should not be that different. Their murder rate is 10% of Washington D.C. (7.0 murders per 100,000 people versus 77.8 murders per 100,000 people in Washington D.C). We can also look to Virginia Beach, Va. a nearby city of 400,000. They have sensible gun laws allowing for easy access to firearms and their murder rate is 4.1 per 100,000.

Other Effects Non-Restrictive Gun Laws have on Crime – In the USA in a given year law abiding citizens kills 2,000 to 3,000 criminals. They also wound another 9,000 to 17,000 criminals a year. This is a reduction in the load of violent crimes the government must arrest, detain, prosecute and imprison. It also sends a strong signal to the other would be criminals. Criminals worry far more about an encounter with an armed law abiding citizen than a policeman. Police are most likely going to be polite about asking the criminal to drop their weapon and submit. The citizen in fear of protecting himself and his family is going to be much more prone to firing his weapon than a police officer. Criminals’ greatest fear is running into an armed victim when committing a crime. This was based on a study of 1874 felons from 10 states. In this study 38% of these felons said at least one time they had been scared off, shot at or wounded by an armed victim. Only 1% of the time do criminals take a gun away from a victim, yet 10% of the police officers that are shot, are shot with their own guns. Police officers are slow to shoot and the criminals know this and thus are more fearful of an armed citizen. Private citizens kill three times as many criminals as police do. Remember if someone is assaulting you or robbing you or your house the police will likely only be taking a report not encountering the criminals. It is the citizen who needs all the help and assistance of weapons to survive the criminal encounter.

Why Do Governments Seek Gun Control? – Fear! They are afraid of losing control over the population. The prefect state of affairs for a police state is the confiscation of all privately owned firearms. Then the possibility of an overthrow of the government goes down by about 99.9%. They never want partial gun controls like only machine guns or “assault type weapons” to be banned. They want all the privately owned guns gone. The partial gun control is the Salami theory. You keep cutting a slice away until there is nothing left. The only reason for gun control is to make room for a totalitarian government, nothing else. Sometime there are people ignorantly confused who support gun control thinking it will do something to make the world a safer place to live. Play with these people and say when the government disarms then you will. Tell them to chase the government and tell them to have the government give up their guns for police leaving only the military armed. Use the British Bobbies who used to be unarmed as an example. Tell them the Cayman Island and Nassau police are unarmed. Have them call for the disarming of the police. Play with them. Have fun. Every time the police shoot someone accidentally tell them to call for the disarming of the police.

How Would Gun Control Happen – Well Obama showed it to you recently. They were starting to introduce gun control bills again. We do not know how aggressively they will push them this time. Nothing in these bills will do any practical good in terms of reducing crime, not a single thing. They also increase the penalties each time. So if it would happen what would it look like. OK there would be a bill that say banned all assault weapons. The bill would say the attorney General can add any gun to the list he wanted. Over time he would keep adding guns to test the public response. The banned guns would be prohibited from being sold at first. They would leave .22 caliber single shot rifles and single shot shotguns until the end to satisfy the call for hunting guns. Then the banned guns would become illegal to own even if they were grandfathered in, registered whatever. This would be something like turn them in or face 20 years in prison for each gun plus a $100,000 fine for each gun. I am serious on the penalties.

No one would be coming to anyone’s house to collect the guns for a long time. They would wait for someone to get shot with a .22 caliber gun and then say these too need to be banned. They always love to call for new restrictive laws after a shooting crime. Do that back to them. Every time you see the police abuse a person with a taser call for them to be banned and not used by the police. They will soon stop when their own tactics gets turned on them. Now the people have their guns and they can run around quoting Charleston Heston and his out of my cold dead hands slogan. The next stage is anytime the local police get into a house like to respond to a burglary, a domestic abuse call, a noisy party anything and they see the guns then someone gets to go to jail for a long time. The word soon gets out. If you think the people that own guns are going to like get together, carry guns and march on Washington D.C. armed to the teeth to demand gun laws be repealed you need to get some counseling. You will never see this. If anything like this were ever going to happen it would have happened in 1968 with the first serious federal gun control law. This came on the heels of the Kennedy assassination. What did that have to do with gun control laws anyway?

I am going to say some things about how it used to be. If any of you find this too wild to be true verify it. Find old issues of Guns and Ammo magazines and read the ads. You were able to buy guns mail order across state lines before 1968. There were a few states that prohibited this but that was it. You were able to buy machine guns fairly easily. You were able to freely buy what they call destructive devices. Boys ant-tank rifles (Boys was a manufacturers name) were being sold for $99.00 with bipods and all. The ads used to say for the jackrabbit that got away. This rifle fires a .51 caliber round that is effective on lightly armored tanks. Bazookas were a mail order item as were mortars. Armor piercing ammo was freely available until the late 1970’s or early 1980’s. They had lovely armor piercing fully jacketed .45 auto rounds that would pierce engine blocks, let alone bullet resistant vests. Guns were not registered except for a few states and cities that did this. Those yellow forms came along with the 1968 gun control law. This was when guns were fairly well available and by mail order. An armed society is a polite society. Criminals are not polite.

Response To New Restrictive Gun Control Laws – We will now address how the people will be likely to respond. This is hypothetical and based on speculation only. No one can predict what the people will do with any accuracy including the government. There are many mitigating circumstances that will come to bear on the hearts and minds of those affected.

In this hypothetical scenario the people in our opinion are going to not physically resist new guns laws instead just sort of go with the flow and verbally oppose them only, for the most part. They will bury their guns and ammo in the woods. They will hide them inside the walls, under the floorboards etc. They will say things like well when the time comes etc. Eventually the local police will start arresting people when they discover the guns in vehicles, in houses, informants (the maid, the plumber, the cable TV guy, the alarm company guy) tell them about them and so forth. These people will be arrested and get probably 10 years for each gun plus massive fines like $100,000 for each gun. There will be calls for amnesty asking people to just turn the guns in and walk away free. Many will do this out of fear. There will be no revolutionary forces to join and resist. After a year or two there will be raids on houses. They will use devices to see images behind the sheetrock. They will use metal detectors in the yards and land.

When they find a gun after the owner does not turn it over when they show up they will throw the book at the person. They will take his family as accomplices. All will be in jail for many years. The fines will cause them to lose their homes, cars and assets. They will be destroyed completely. Only thing worse would be to kill them. Those with guns hidden in the woods will be questioned as to where their guns are. They will probably be charged with some crime for not reporting a stolen gun within 72 hours, which is found in HR 45 the latest gun control bill (not law yet). So when they say the guns were lost or stolen they get charged with the crime of not reporting this and get serious jail time for each gun. Gun registration is the prelude to the confiscation, nothing else.

The reporting the lost and stolen guns in 72 hours is the fix against you saying you lost the guns when they come to take them away. Those with unregistered guns will be able to hide them in the woods. There are many ways to do this securely and preserve the firearm. If the weapon is wiped free of prints and any blood like from getting pinched by the slide (think DNA) then this person should be safe if the weapons are found and not traceable to him in any way. What good is it doing them to have the guns buried in the woods? It is just a psychological game they are playing with themselves. Once a man came to Confucius and said I had a jar full of money buried in the woods. I went to dig it up to check on it and the money was gone. What should I do? Confucius said put rocks in the jar, bury it again and make believe the money is still there. It would be very dangerous for these people to even go and check on their weapons and they probably never will. I do not think there will be any rising up of gun owners. They are not going to engage the police in active firefights to keep their guns. The guns will just go away and the police state will be in full swing.

What the Police Are Missing – Police do not see their role in the police state correctly or even close to it. They miss the bigger picture. To them it is a status job, the pay is good and the perks are big. Police and their families get out from traffic tickets. Ask any law enforcement officer you may know well. This includes spouses, children, brothers, sisters, and parents. In many departments they even have little gold and silver courtesy badges they give their relatives. The police and their families get favorable treatment with accident reports, ouch if you are the other driver. They have a lot of favorable treatment letting them get away with things regular people do not get away with. They usually cannot get away with major crimes. Police carry guns all over the USA without a carry permit. They can carry on airplanes if they are Federal Officers. They can carry guns in government buildings, in stadiums, schools etc.

If they are in their own jurisdiction they can get away with anything short of major felonies with victims. Police like this treatment. It gives them status and pride. It teaches them there are only three classes of people. The ruling class to them is not the Federal Reserve Bank; they would not know what that is. It is the senators, congressmen, mayors, supervisors, judges etc. They know these people can exert their power and influence and make their life miserable in many ways. They leave these people alone. Then there are police, which they always leave alone. Then come you the citizen. You pay their salary and they have no respect for you. You do not matter in that you have no power to do anything against them and you cannot retaliate. They are there to control you. The Taser is the latest police state tactic to be adopted. If a person doe not verbally snap to and respond to a verbal command of a police officer like get out of the car, stand here, sit down, move here etc they taser them.

The police do not know they are conditioning the populace to respond to the police blindly without thinking or face painful consequences. I do not really know what they think. I guess they think it is proper to demand such respect and control over those they are supposed to protect. Most people that get tasered are involved in a victimless non-violent crime. This makes it worse. The police are not aware of any of this. They are in their own little world. They do not worry too much about the financial crisis in that they think there will always be work for them. Wait until the layoffs sink in later this year. Their attitude will change for the worse. They will do anything their handlers ask to keep their jobs. The police do not think they are there to protect and serve. They are there to control the populace and protect the ruling class and each other. Can you remember when police had nice government service looking uniforms, revolvers, long wooden sticks and helped people change flat tires. Now they look like storm troopers, wear black uniforms and masks, never help anyone with anything, have high tech weapons and strike fear and terror into the hearts of those that have contact with them. This is not being done by chance it is planned to strike fear into you of the police who used to be there to serve you. The police used to be hard on armed robbers, rapists, burglars, muggers and real criminals. Now most of the people in the prisons are there for crimes that are victimless. A government statue is not a victim.

When the Police State Flourishes What Is It Like For The Police? – Well this is something they do not consider. Let us say gun control has been accomplished and private ownership of guns is historical. So the people are no longer a threat. Who will the paranoid rulers fear next? They are always paranoid because they do not rule by popular support. Ever see the army of bodyguards they have now, this is nothing. You got it, the police and military is what they will fear the most. They have the weapons, the access, the association potential to organize etc. Imagine police leaving their guns in their lockers when going off shift. This is how it will be. No private guns for police anymore. Internal security investigations will become a lifestyle.

There will not be any more lawsuits against the government. The Internal Security Forces will be super cops trained to resent the police, take advantage of them and rule them by fear and harshness. What the police do the population now, is what the internal security forces will do to the police then only worse since there will not be any consequences for their actions. There will be mandatory polygraph exams. Long interrogations. Police homes and cars being searched. Their phones and email being tapped. They will be followed. Other police constantly being questioned about their colleagues. The role model is the SS Hitler had. Remember who tried to kill Hitler, the military on several occasions. The military will also be handled harshly but they are much more easily controlled due to the nature of the military but their internal security forces will constantly be engaged in a war of terror against them.

The internal security forces will have to get results or else they will be considered ineffective so one way or another they will be discovering sedition, spying, attempts to revolt, steal, commit criminal acts etc. The police will be policed very harshly. They will in turn be harsh towards the population. The police do not see any of this coming. The Federal Police are in the same boat as the local police. They will become more and more entrusted to police the police and protect the state as time goes on. There will not be much point in protecting the state from an unarmed populace so guess who they will focus on – the others who can have access to guns – the military and police. The internal security forces the federal police have will rein terror on them as well. They will have to uncover plots to keep their jobs and show they serve a purpose. Doom and gloom.

Will This Scenario Be Likely? – In our opinion no. We ascribe to the breaking up of the USA due to financial collapse similar to the USSR in the 1980’s. It looks like Obama is afraid to push forward with gun control legislation just now. This can be a ruse while they work hard to get it passed quietly without opposition until it is too late but unlikely. Obama has to maintain order in the face of the financial collapse, which is already happened, and getting worse by the day. New opposition from 25 million gun owners is not something him and Billary need right now. The countries in the world do not trust the US and their dollar and they are working fast to replace the dollar as the world reserve currency.

Anything like this will hurt the USA and throw them into hyperinflation. The USA will have to start buying foreign currency to make purchases abroad and the exchange rate will be bad for the USD. Gun control is a slow freight train that takes years to effect even from where they are today. The USA Government is really fighting for its continued existence and hoping to keep its role as a superpower and the world’s policeman. I would say they have two chances – slim and none. They destroyed themselves with their idiotic greedy monetary practices. The descriptive term should be – Dead Country Walking.

Whether you are democrat or republican, there is an important lesson to take away from how national political conventions are handled.

The lesson is about “messaging” and “image.”

As an observer of these conventions you can see how much the parties try to control their message and image. These conventions are very carefully designed and choreographed. The participants are given scripts, rehearse their parts, send their scripts to the media, have professionals help with wardrobe, hair, makeup, and how to present. They even have someone help them know the best ways to get to and from the speakers’ platform. This is an Event with a capital “E” and that is exactly how it’s treated.

In one of the conventions I watched, the particular reporter I heard said that one of the speakers had tried on five different suits to determine which one would show up most favorably on television. FIVE suits!

They, rightly so, know that with millions of potential voters (translate “customers”) the message and image they communicate about their candidate (translate “your company”) is critical to getting people to vote (translate “buy from you”).

Basically, these conventions are one big commercial or ad for their respective parties and the candidates they promote.

So, how about you? Do you carefully plan and choreograph your message and image to your customers? Do you take care to have your customers see only the very best you and your “party” have to offer. Or do you simply go along and let your competition or the marketplace haphazardly define who you are and what your value is?

As you observe these conventions (and other similar events) you should be asking yourself:

* Would your current and potential constituents vote for you over other similar candidates? In other words are you their candidate of choice? (Do your customers think you are the best and most knowledgeable salesperson they talk to?)

* Do your customers know who you are and what value you bring to them?

* Is there a clear distinction between you and your competition?

* Do they know what you stand for (what is your expertise)?

* Do you communicate your experiences and how you have helped other customers?

Elections are a great analogy for the business world. Every day you are in competition against yourself, the marketplace, and other providers of technology solutions. So every day you have to ask yourself: Am I the candidate of choice for my customers? Or am I one of the candidates who lost in the primary and the names of whom people can’t even remember?

It’s up to you; you decide who you’re going to vote for just as your customers decide who to vote for every time they make a purchase.

Eligibility for Seeking Asylum in the US

A person physically in the United States, who expresses a fear of persecution on account of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group, is eligible to apply for asylum. While some of these categories are clear, others, such as what constitutes a “social group,” is subject to significant litigation in federal courts. If a person receives a grant of asylum, he or she will subsequently be able to apply for adjustment of status (green card).

To seek legal protection from being deported, asylum seekers must:

• Be outside their country of nationality. Asylees are by definition in the United States and thus necessarily outside their country of nationality. The law expressing this is INA § 101(a)(42)(A).
• Be afraid of persecution by the government in the native country. Torture, for example, is persecution recognized under the law, while harassment or discrimination is almost never found to be a kind of persecution. However, the cumulative effect of various types of harm can be persecution when added together, such as economic disadvantage (unable to obtain gainful employment), interference with one’s right to privacy, substandard living conditions, deprived of higher education, and/or ostracized by society. Where these lines are drawn is different in each case.
• Be harmed or fear harm by parts of the government. The police and the army are parts of the government. Harm by right-wing or left-wing political groups or religious zealots that the government is “unable or unwilling to control” also meets the demands of asylum laws.
• Be affected by at least one of several defined conditions. As suggested above, these conditions are: political opinion, race, religion, nationality, and social group. The last category, social group, usually refers to people with certain characteristics that a particular society might lump together and about which it generally has an unfavorable attitude, such as homosexuals. The law generally does not include people who fled their homes due to civil wars, generalized violence, or criminal prosecution. However, one of these reasons may suffice for asylum if it can be connected to one of the five listed conditions.
• Not be a danger to the community. Finally, international law recognizes that countries have the right to exclude asylum seekers who may be a danger to society. Those excluded are those who have committed “particularly serious crimes,” including aggravated felonies as defined in INA § 101(a)(43), pose threats to national security, or who have committed war crimes or “crimes against humanity.”

Bars to Seeking Asylum
Even if you meet the above criteria for asylum, you may be barred from seeking asylum under certain circumstances. Some of the bars to asylum include but are not limited to:

• conviction for a “particularly serious crime” (includes aggravated felony convictions)
• committed a serious nonpolitical crime outside of the United States
• poses a danger to the security of the United States
• has engaged, ordered, assisted, or otherwise participated in the persecution of any person on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion

Warning Against Filing a Frivolous Asylum
If you file a frivolous asylum application, you will be PERMANENTLY BARRED from seeking any form of discretionary relief in the United States, including adjustment of status, cancellation of removal, or voluntary departure.

For immigration purposes, an asylum application is frivolous if any of its material elements is deliberately fabricated.

Remember, the credibility of your claim is at issue in an asylum case. What you write in your application, and what you say under oath in an asylum interview or in an immigration court, will decide whether you are a credible person and have a credible claim.

If the immigration judge finds that you have filed a fraudulent asylum application, not only will you have a deportation order that will be difficult to reverse on appeal, but you will never be able to apply for any other form of discretionary relief!

So, if you knowingly submit a fraudulent asylum application, you are subject to the harsh penalty of permanently becoming ineligible for other relief, regardless of sympathetic circumstances.

A frivolous finding is basically a “death sentence” for immigration purposes, so you should never file a frivolous application.

Withholding of Removal (INA § 241(b)(3))
The Attorney General may not remove a person to a country where his or her life or freedom would be threatened because of his or her race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

To win a claim for withholding of removal, you must show that there is a “clear probability” that you will be subject to persecution if forced to return to the country of removal, or that it is “more likely than not” that you would be persecuted if you are removed to the home country.

Of course, this is a higher burden of proof than the showing of “past persecution or a well-founded fear of future persecution” required for asylum. However, unlike asylum, which is a discretionary form of relief, withholding of removal is mandatory once you establish that your life or freedom would be threatened in the proposed country of removal on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.

If granted withholding of removal under INA § 241(b)(3), the applicant can remain in the United States, but can NOT be granted lawful permanent resident status (green card) on that basis.

Additionally, a grant of withholding of removal only means that you cannot be deported to your native county; if and when the United States government finds another country that will accept you, you will be deported to that country.

Convention Against Torture (CAT)
Article 3 of the United Nations Convention Against Torture protects aliens who fear torture in their native country. Unlike asylum and withholding of removal, CAT does not require that the alien be persecuted on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
Convention Against Torture is a treaty that prohibits the return of a person to a country where there are substantial grounds for believing that the person would be in danger of being subjected to torture if returned to his or her native country.

“Torture” is defined in Article 3 of CAT. There are no bars to eligibility for Convention Against Torture, and those who do not qualify to seek asylum can nonetheless seek protection under CAT.
To win a Convention Against Torture claim, you must prove that it is “more likely than not” that you would be subject to torture if forced to return to your native country.

If you are granted protection under Convention Against Torture, you cannot be removed from the United States to the country from which you fear being tortured, but you can be removed to any other country if that county will accept you.

A grant of CAT relief does not entitle you to become a lawful permanent resident (green card holder). However, based on such a grant of relief, you can obtain an employment authorization document (EAD) and can reside and work lawfully in the United States.

Competent Representation is Key
As it is true about any other area of immigration law, competent representation of your asylum claim is key in putting forth the best and strongest possible application. If you wish to seek asylum, withholding of removal, or relief under Convention Against Torture you are required to file Form I-589. Form I-589 covers all of these forms of relief. There is no filing fee associated with an application for asylum.

Be careful of lawyers or representatives who “promise” you that you will win your asylum case and that you have “nothing to worry about”! You should consult competent attorneys prior to filing an application for asylum, because there are severe consequences for filing a fraudulent asylum application before an Immigration Court. While those who “promise” you a victory have nothing to lose if you do not win your asylum case, you have everything to lose! Do not take unnecessary risks!

These are the things that the voters need to know about a potential president. Most business executives may be relieved that they don’t have to undergo similar scrutiny when they are appointed!

The modern Greeks believe in a myth created for political purpose, the myth of Ancient Greece as the cradle of democracy and the civilisation at all, and modern greece, west europe / usa as their succesors, with some magic links via the Holy Roman Empire. That myth is a rasistic and neo-fascistic exuse for daily politic use, and attepmt to steal the heritage of the ancient civilizations, and the credits for the development of the present civilization. To be more pathetic, settlers are denying the right of the natives to use their name… Wake Up World, we Macedonians do not claim the world heritage and some credits for us, like the Greek do, and we will surely resist any attepmt to deny us the right to use the name Macedonia and to feel ourself as Macedonians!!!

In February 1897, the British empire in what they termed “Punitive measure” invaded the ancient Benin Kingdom, now located in Nigeria deposing Oba Ovomramwen to Calabar in the present Cross River state of Nigeria, executing many of his traditional chiefs and killing innocent people in the city. The British then raided the private cultural centre of the Kingdom by stealing more than 3000 artefacts belonging to the Kingdom. The most famous of this being the Festac 77 mask also referred to as Queen Idia mask now conspicously and dubiously made to sit in the Museum while innocent minds take a look at it. During the Festac ’77 Festival held in Nigeria, a replica of the mask was used as a mascot of the biggest festival ever held in Africa. The mask is cast in bronze and ivory.

The Festac mask has come to symbolize unity against the continued struggle of African people worldwide particularly those seeking the return of their artefacts stolen by Britain and scattered around the various countries of Europe and in America. The Festac mask represents one of the unaccountable number of African artefacts stolen from the country by Britain and other European countries of the world.

It is particularly sad that these number of stolen artefacts are made to comfortably sit in British museums, attracting large sums of money and undeserved respect for the country while the real and deprived owners are left mourning the loss of these artifacts.  The stealing of these invaluable artefacts from African countries have left a wide and deep void which may never be filled unless these works of African origin are immediately returned to us without further excuses by Britian and her fellow European and American countries or how are African countries expected to listen to them when thhey preach peace and equality and even try certain people for war chrimes?

The stealing of our artefacts by Britain and fellow European countries is nothing but cultural stealing. This was an attempt to steal together our cultures and ship them to briitain and other dens located in Europe and America. Concerned African countries should never relent unless these works are totally recovered. The case of Britain and the stealing of  Queen Idia mask is shameful and leaves the government of Britain not to be trusted in its sour words to unite the world culturally and otherwise.

“In November 2006 the UK intellectual property office accepted the application to register the mask as a trade mark. Details were published in the UK Trade Marks journal for three months to allow for any objections. The British Museum had every opportunity to oppose the application if they had rightful copyright. They did not oppose it. As a result, the trademark certificate was registered in the UK by Markets and Investments in June 2007.” (African Resource, Looting African Arts, Thursday, 10 April 2008)

By this development, Britain has succesfully acknowledged that if  the opportunity exists, she would successfully accept to  re-colonize Africa again and again. Britain should one day be made to account for all the artefacts she has stolen from Africa and refused to return having made so much monies from them through copyright claims.

Britain has continued to through every opportunity available to her demonstrate that she will not return these stolen African artefacts. In apparent deviation from UNESCO policy and decision of the General Conference at its 33rd session, the British Museum’s during the debate in 2007 maintained that cultural objects were safer in developed countries and countries of origins could have access through digitized or digital images of the work. Is this not shameful to the whole world including America?

“The figures generated by the British Museum for the Benin artefacts alone is conservatively estimated at around 100 Million Pounds, (N25, 000, 000, 000 trillion Naira), not a single penny has been given to the Oba.” (www.africanresource.com) Any student of Economics and Political Science or even International Relations will easily realise that this is nothing but continued under-development of Africa.

In 1874, Britain in manner similar to the invasion of Benin carried out what they also termed “Punitive expedition” in Kumasi, Ghana against the Asantehene (King) who had earlier resisted every attempt made by the British to reduce his economic as  well as economibc control in the former Gold Coast region for the selfish interest of the European country. It is a known fact that the British were attracted by gold which existed in the region. This resulted in the attack of the region led by the British Punitive Army led by Sir Garnet Wolseley. The King escaped which gave the British the opportunity to enter his capital stealing every valuable objects available including calashes worked in gold and silver, and the 20-centimeter high golden head believed to be the largest gold work ever made by man in Africa. This work fraudulently its way in Wallace Collection in London where it now dubiously sits.

In 2007, British prime Minister, Gordon Brown pledged his support for what the Briatain has called Britain’s first “Museum of Britishness” even though Britain has refused to return all the artefacts she stole from African countries and even around the world. African Historians have expressed fears that visitors to this Museum will have to pay and view stolen works prominently from Africa, an act which may become shameful to the once super power having lost its glory to  America. Withholding the mask further will continue to display the socio-cultural loss of the country’s glory to supposedly smaller African countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia etc. Who can conclude that Britain is culturally larger than these African countires arteficially by her anyway?

Germany, Korea and China are not left in this cultural plunder of African countries as these countries have continued to purchase these stolen works thus creating a diffiicult avenue for the recovery of these works. Belgium and Austria oppose any return while America express the view that these works are better stored in foreign countries for scientific reasons well beyond what African countries comprehend and agitate so that African countries can raise question on whether these works were made for scientific researches in the first place and to be stored in more scientifically developed countries.

I enjoin African leaders to seek ways through which our stolen artefacts can be recovered from Britain and other Foreign nations who believe that plundering and stealing of artefacts should be universalized and legalised. The Nigerian and Ghananian governements especially should not relent in doing this. The donation of the Festac mask to UNESCO by Olusegun Obasegun, Nigerias’ former leader at a well attended ceremony in Paris held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris is not a solution but an event meant at encouraging Britain and others not to relent in their bid to hold on to our stolen artefacts. This  is also like the giving away of Nigeria’s Bakassi peninsular by the same Obasanjo as a means of courting the personal friendliness of USA, Germany, France and Britain rather the governments of African countries should display a much  more serious attitude which will signal the international community that enough is enough.

Let political parties be on principles

         Time has come when the people of India may reduce number of political parties and those parties should be based on recognized principles.  The present system of establishing political parties has damaged our reputation in the world and people with different shades of thoughts are coming together and forming political parties like co-operative societies, dividing offices amongst themselves and then trying to gain power in the country so that these people could convert the authority offices into sources of income.  All those who had been forming governments were from the rich block and they had got no will to serve the people and that is the reason, the people in power had had been gaining much and the people who could not reach these rich people had been left behind and the difference is so high that we shall not be able to equalize our people within the next century.

             We have seen that in spite of establishing democracy in this part of the world, we had to face family rule, then party dictatorship and then individual autocracy and now there is alliance system and the people in the houses are distributing seats of power amongst themselves on the basis of ratio and proportion which in fact is not a democratic process.  We have seen that only ‘ crorepattis ‘ and coming to the houses and most of the people in the houses are just enjoying status and they do not function.  Very few function and those are the people who are utilizing whips and the others are not allowed to function on the basis of their own will and conscience. The voting system in the houses is just a figure work and the wisdom of the members is not allowed to function.

            Time has come when our universities should introduce courses so that we could prepare qualified and trained people for the houses and we should have ministers who could be able to have control over the bureaucracy.  The present sets of people who are not trained and experts often work under the guidance of bureaucracy, and in due course, they have already converted this democracy of us into bureaucracy and most of the orders are passed by the bureaucracy in names of ministers, who are not better than the bureaucracy.

                If the present system of forming political parties continues, we shall not be able to establish true democracy and therefore, a departure from the present system is most necessary.  And we shall be able to introduce new system only when trained and well qualified people are coming in the political parties and then in the government.  The present system has caused much damages to our country and therefore, we must change.  The tragedy before us that we have got no trained sets of people before us and our universities had failed to trained the people for governance. The sets of people who are in politics must go out and that is possible only when trained people are available.  When we are passing through an age of science and technology, we need talented people and such people should be available and then brought to our August HOuses.

The name Barack Obama has become notorious in recent months and there are many American voters who are closely following what he has to say, his ideas on how to run the country have opened the eyes of many people that some real problems are and how they can be treated.

Obama has also provided new ideas for some very old problems, such as medical care, and while each candidate has something to say about medical care ultimately, which is a candidate to the idea that work is done the present population without medical care.

He also showed a more personal with some of his television appearances on programs that are not policies and seems to be very comfortable in these formats rather than the cumbersome policy that many politicians to keep to leave voters to wonder what their real personality as May be. This may seem unimportant to some people but the candidate elected in Whitehouse ultimately, at some point show their human side and it is a great advantage of knowing a head of time what the candidate is.

One interesting policies that Obama want to create is a teacher residency program, which would train teachers in management, higher education and hands on training. This would end the country out about 30000 new teachers a year, which would end a shortage of untrained teachers providing education to children in USA. There is currently a lack of teachers and there are also some states that do not require as high a level as other states for teachers in their school systems. When the national average is considered to student achievement levels, it can be easily seen that it takes more effort placed on education and the requirements of the curriculum.

Obama is the only candidate to have recognized this growing problem with educating the youth of the country and has developed a thought and a plan that not only help to properly educate students, but will also help boost employment with this program 30000 training with new teachers trained each year.

This is what makes voters sit down and listen to the ideas of Obama and take into consideration that it might well be the next President of the USA and one who brings new ideas from some old problems in the country .
